Prof Chinedum Igwe, Executive Director of International Association of African Authors and Scholars, (IAAAS) has arrived The Gambia for Mr Modou Lamin Age-Almusaf Sowe’s unveiling of Awards of Excellence for African Literature and Book launch ceremonies.

The event will hold at the Ebunjan Theatre in Kanifing, on Friday the 7th of January, 2022 by 2:30 pm prompt.

As we begin the count down to January 7th when the event will formally hold, the Secretary-General of the Pan-African Writers Association, the President of Gambia Writers Association including the Presidents of Writers Associations in 7 countries, International scholars from the USA, UK, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Ethiopia, France and Belgium are all expected in The Gambia to join Prof Chinedum Igwe to officially present the award of excellence for African Literature to Gambian Modou Lamin Age-Almusaf Sowe, author of “Don’t Judge The Book By The Cover”.

Meanwhile, Prof Chinedum Igwe has met with The Gambia Minister of Tourism and Culture Mr N K Bah, who was happy to receive the IAAAS Executive Director in his office in Banjul. At the end of their warm deliberations, IAAAS request for land in The Gambia for Africa International Leadership Institute continental campus was approved in principles by the Minister.

At other meetings at the office of the President of Gambia Writers Association, Igwe also established strong collaboration and Book sales on IAAAS website for PAWA and GWA authors.

Dr Charles Uti, IAAAS General Secretary is also expected to join Prof Chinedum Igwe for the events in Gambia anytime soon before January 7th.
