EFCC has confirmed that in its fraud arrest done so far, Edo state has the highest number of arrest with 1,427.
Presently, The Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission recorded the highest number of arrests in the agency’s crackdown on internet fraud popularly known as Yahoo yahoo in the first half of 2025.
This was revealed in the Figures published in the latest edition of The EFCC Alert, the commission’s magazine, pointing at report from its Benin office carried out with 12 sting operations between January and June, arresting 327 suspects.
Also, next was from the Abuja Zonal Directorate after carrying out eight sting operations, arrested 299 suspects.
The EFCC said within six months period, it has apprehended 1,427 suspected internet fraudsters nationwide, which confirms Edo state as the main hub for fraudsters, yahoo yahoo.
