The viral video, which circulated on social media, showed the officers inside a vehicle marked “Area Command Asaba,” leading many to suspect the money was the result of extortion.

Confirming the arrests via a post on X, on Tuesday, August 26, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe, stated that the officers were swiftly identified and apprehended.
The post reads: “The policemen in the embarrassing video have been identified and arrested. They appeared before the CP today, the four personnel, two of them who are senior officers have been queried while the two inspectors have been detained and awaiting an orderly room trial.”
