The Nigeria Police Force to reward integrity, hard work, and dedication as the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun is set to decorate officers recently promoted by the Police Service Commission.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, states that the officers and recipients of national recognition for excellence represent the finest traditions of policing and demonstrate uncommon courage and commitment in service to the nation.

The promotion follows a resolution by the Force Management Team to fast-track the elevation of officers who won the Police Officer of the Year or IGP Recognition Awards in two cumulative years. Among those being decorated are ACP Shaba Aliyu, Police Officer of the Year 2023, and CSP Sentome Obi, Police Officer of the Year 2024. Their photographs now adore the main entrance of the Force Headquarters just as the IGP deploys the police jet to bring them to Abuja for their official decoration.
Beyond individual reward, the gesture signals a cultural shift within the Force—where merit is recognized and professionalism institutionalized. The IGP’s message is clear: the Nigeria Police celebrates its best. Officers nationwide are reminded that their sacrifices matter—and under this leadership, excellence is not only applauded but elevated.
