The Government of Nigeria and the United States have launched the Commercial Investment Partnership, established under the MOU signed in July 2024.
A statement by the US embassy in Abuja states that this was at a working group meeting along with U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills Jr. and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole.

During the inaugural session, Richard Mills, Jr., says, the Commercial and Investment Partnership, or CIP, is one of the top priorities of his tenure as U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, while appreciating the effort put by the working groups to come to fruition. Other areas of focus include: Agriculture, Infrastructure, and Digital Economy.
He says the CIP underscores the United States’ strong commitment to further enhancing bilateral trade and investment, fostering economic growth, and creating opportunities mutually beneficial to the two countries.
