MTN Y’ELLO CARE EMPOWERS LAGOS YOUTH WITH TECH SKILLS, RESOURCES

The Lagos State Agency for Mass Education, in partnership with MTN Telecommunication Company, has empowered Lagos Youths with skills and resources to succeed in the digital world.

 

Speaking at the annual Y’ello Care employee volunteer initiative which wrapped up recently at the Rotary Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Mrs. Oluwakemi Kalesanwo, Director of the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education, expressed profound gratitude to the MTN for its benevolence.

She added that the combination of practical coding training and the substantial donation of computer systems, an inverter, and other vital resources will significantly enhance the training facility and will go a long way in empowering the trainees with the digital and vocational skills they need to thrive in today’s world.

 

The three-day programme focused on equipping participants with fundamental coding skills, providing them with invaluable tools for future success.

 

In a collaborative effort with the Lagos State Agency for Mass Education, MTN generously donated essential technology and infrastructure to the RVTC. Items donated included five brand-new 2-in-1 HP Desktop computers, accompanied by five computer UPS units, ensuring stable power for the new equipment.

 

To further enhance the centre’s capabilities, MTN provided a 3.5 KVA solar system inverter, two tubular batteries, and four solar panels, establishing a sustainable power solution.

In a similar vein and to ensure connectivity, a 5G router with a three-month subscription was also donated, opening up a world of digital resources for the trainees.

 

Key representatives from the Agency for Mass Education who were in attendance included Ibukun Seriki, Ibraheem Mustapha, Olaide Oladunjoye, Adegoke Otaru, Adeniyi Ologuntoye, along with RVTC Principal Mosun Otitoloju and Vice-Principal Olayemi Adesina.

 

The MTN team had in attendance Kokapo Olaleye, Yemisi Adeleye, Samusideen Odufisan, Moses Oyerinde, Ademola Olaniyan, Funmi Jegede, and Adeboye Adenuga, among others, underscoring the company’s commitment to community development.
