In Delta State, Police operatives attached to the CP-Special Assignment Team, acting on credible intelligence, arrested one Abubakar Hassan (30), a key suspect in a cross-state kidnapping syndicate operating across Delta, Rivers, Imo, and Enugu States. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have led operations along the Ughelli-Ozoro axis. He led the officers to a forest hideout in Ozoro, where two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and thirty-two rounds of live ammunition were recovered. The operation followed the earlier arrest of three other gang members.

In a related development, Safer Highway Patrol officers intercept a vehicle during a routine stop-and-search along Ughelli road and recovered a locally fabricated revolver pump-action rifle and fifteen live cartridges. The driver, one Obi Ezekiel (38), was arrested at the scene.

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, commends the bravery and professionalism of the officers involved and urges all Commands to sustain the momentum in the fight against violent crime.
