
The Department of State Security, DSS has recovered large cache of arms and rescued kidnapped victims in five states including Kaduna and Delta.
In Kaduna, security sources revealed that the DSS arrested eight suspected bandits, 22 informants, four gunrunners, two human traffickers, four cyber fraudsters, two vandals, and 12 relatives of suspected bandits.

The operations also led to the recovery of five AK-47 rifles, one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), three Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs), and about 5,000 rounds of ammunition. Seventy-nine kidnap victims were rescued and are now in government custody.
While in Delta State, DSS operatives recovered 50 AK-47 rifles, six pump-action guns, and 3,000 rounds of ammunition during a covert operation in Asaba.
A serving British Army officer of Itsekiri origin was arrested in connection with the arms stockpile.
The seizure drew commendations from Ijaw communities in Egbema, Gbaramatu, Isaba, and Ogbe-Ijoh kingdoms, who have urged the Presidency to launch a thorough investigation, warning of the risk of renewed conflict in Warri.
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Oluwatosin Ajayi as Director General of the DSS which has redefined the agency’s fight against insecurity.
The commendation follows a series of successful DSS operations in Kaduna State, where about 34 operations led to the arrest of 54 suspects — including serving security personnel — and the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
