NOA and NELFUND have discovered that certain universities and banks are allegedly holding back student loans that have already been approved.
According to LANRE ISSA-ONILU, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, some institutions have prevented students from taking exams due to non-payment, even though the funds have been disbursed by NELFUND. Students often end up paying themselves, only to later learn that the loan payments were already made.
Additionally, some schools impose additional charges labeled as ‘processing fees.’He mentioned that they have informed the anti-corruption agencies about their findings.
