
The Ogun State government has signed an MoU with the Confederation of General Employers of Morocco (CGEM) to collaborate on power, education, housing, infrastructure, and port development.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who signed on behalf of the state, emphasized Morocco’s success in energy, manufacturing, and agriculture, stating that Ogun aims to leverage its expertise. Discussions focused on boosting power supply through the Light Up Ogun Project, attracting investments in fertilizer production, expanding industrial development, and advancing technical education.

The partnership also includes plans to extend the Lagos Blue Line to Ogun, fast-track the Olokola Deep Seaport, and develop smart cities. CGEM’s Vice President, Ali Zerouali, affirmed Morocco’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Ogun State.
Governor @DapoAbiodunCON expressed confidence that this collaboration would accelerate Ogun’s industrial growth and create job opportunities, reinforcing the state’s position as Nigeria’s leading investment destination.
