The Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA) has distributed another tranche of relief materials to no fewer than 30 thousand Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) returnees to cushion the hardship on them.

Speaking at the distribution At Ugya IDPs Camp in Toto Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, Mr Zachary Allumaga NASEMA Director General enjoined the returnees to embrace peace.
Allumaga explained that the returnees were victims of the communal crisis, wind storms and flood disasters in the area.
The Director General, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Obagu Danladi said that the Government was committed to protecting the life and property of its citizenry.
Allumaga explained that both the state government and the local government had worked hard toward ensuring all IDPs were returned to their ancestral homes.
The director general noted that the government had provided adequate security to protect lives and property as well as maintaining law and order, hence advising the returnees to live in peace with one another to attract development to the area.
“The state government under the leadership of Gov Abdullahi Sule is committed to lasting peace, the peace we are all yearning for has returned to the Toto LGA.
“We want everybody to live in peace since the state and the local government commit themselves to bring you back to your ancestral home, there’s no cause to entertain fear because we have adequate security in place.
“As the rainy season sets in everybody can go back to the farm so that we can have abundant foods, based on what we were able to achieve and security agencies in place, this peace will be sustained,” he assured.
The NASEMA Boss, while commending Gov Sule for prioritising the security and welfare of the citizenry, called on the people of the Ugya Community to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the government to deliver more dividends of democracy.
Also speaking, Mr Sunday Yakubu, Deputy Chairman, Toto Local Government, appealed to the returnees to live in peace with one another and encouraged them to be optimistic about better days ahead.
On his part, traditional ruler, Mr Isaac Sekpe, Aguma of Komgbo in Ugya Community, while sympathising with the IDPs, thanked Gov Sule for always prioritising the security and welfare of the citizens.
He called on other wealthy individuals across the state to come to their aid, especially in the areas of medical supplies, and foodstuffs, among other needs to complement the efforts of the government.
The items distributed by the Agency include; bags of rice, maize, beans, Garri, Maggi seasoning, salts, mattresses, mats, mosquito nets, buckets, kitchen utensils, sanitary pads, detergents, and bath soap among others.
