NCHAKA FESTIVAL: ONELGA CHAIRMAN, PRINCE ISAAC UMEJURU SUES FOR PEACE

As the people of Ogba in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area gear up to celebrate the 2024 annual festival known as Nchaka, the Chairman of the Council, Prince Isaac Umejuru is advising the people of the area to make peace their watch word.

 

Prince Isaac Umejuru gave the advice in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Peter Henry-Dee.

Nchaka festival, which is celebrated yearly, marks the end of a calendar year and the beginning of a new calendar year. It also implies the end of a farming season, offering opportunity to people to harvest the farm produce and marks the beginning of another farming season.

 

Consequently, the Chairman of ONELGA, Prince Isaac Umejuru is tasking the people to reconcile all differences; see themselves as one indivisible entity; reunite and forge a common front for the progress and development of Ogba Nation and ONELGA at large.

 

The Chairman of ONELGA, Prince Isaac Umejuru in the statement is welcoming home the sons and daughters of Ogbaland for the festival while enjoining them to celebrate the Nchaka in love and exhibit the usual hospitality of the people of Ogba/ONELGA are known for, to their visitors.

 

He promised all those visiting Ogbaland to celebrate the 2024 Nchaka festival of their safety, advising them to be law abiding.

 

The ONELGA Council Boss called on the security operatives to ensure a seamless celebration.

Prince Isaac Umejuru warned that anyone or group of persons, who forment trouble would be arrested and made to face the law.

The Nchaka festival, which has already been proclaimed by the Oba of Ogbaland, Oba Nwachukwu Obuoha Nnam-Obi the Third and his Council of Chiefs, is slated to take place as follows:

Furtherance, the Nchaka festival will continue with wrestling activities in the various participating communities in Ogbaland.
