One of the cardinal policies of President Tinubu’s administration is stakeholder engagement, which has spurred the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to step up collaboration with various stakeholders, including the State Governments, to end the era of project duplication and enhance harmony.

Enhancing collaboration between State Governors, the NDDC, and other critical stakeholders is undoubtedly crucial to driving development through the monitoring and execution of regional projects.

The NDDC has therefore taken steps towards strengthening the relationship between the Commission and the State Governments of the Niger Delta to make them partners and not competitors.

The recent visit of the NDDC Executive Management members, led by the Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku @drsamuelogbuku, to the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri @govdouyediri, was to strengthen the spirit of collaboration further.

The NDDC’s visit and the encouraging conversations that followed were geared towards ensuring synergy between the Commission and State Governments. This is what is needed to engender developmental efforts that are not to be hampered in any form.

The citizenry must, therefore, avoid unnecessary criticism, name-calling, and the blame game, as this defeats the aim of enriching collaboration between the Commission and all State Governments.
