Under the dynamic leadership of Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru, the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area is undergoing a transformative shift toward renewable energy. The Council Secretariat, long challenged by nighttime darkness, is now set to benefit from a visionary solar-powered streetlight project that promises to light up over 50 key locations.
During a recent site inspection, Chairman Umejuru personally oversaw the progress of this ambitious initiative, which is on track to be completed in just 10 days. The solar lights will provide essential illumination, vastly improving security measures and enhancing surveillance around the Secretariat, a vital step toward ensuring the safety of residents and council staff alike.
Beyond improving security, this move marks a decisive turn toward sustainability. By embracing solar energy, the Council will significantly cut down on carbon emissions, reduce its reliance on costly diesel and petrol, and play its part in combating the global climate crisis. The financial savings from this shift will free up resources for other community projects, all while fostering a healthier environment.
This eco-conscious endeavor serves as a testament to Prince Umejuru’s forward-thinking leadership, positioning Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni as a model for other councils in the region. With this project, the community is stepping into a safer, more sustainable future, lighting the way for progress and change.
