The Agency, which is statutorily established to enhance victim safety and reduce the incidence of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in the State, has sensitised parents and children of the All Saint Anglican Church Yaba (The Diocese of Lagos Mainland) during their Sunday School and Children’s day Themed “God’s Heritage”.

The enlightenment session, handled by the Agency’s Head of Community Engagement, Mr. Damilare Adewusi, was on the vulnerability of children to sexual abuse, the prevention and most importantly the protection and rescue of any child where necessary.

He delivered a comprehensive presentation on child vulnerability to sexual abuse, prevention strategies, and protection measures, using the acronym PENS (Physical, Emotional, Neglect and Sexual) to describe the forms of abuse.

The Parents at the service were also educated on how to respond to child abuse disclosures and the appropriate actions to take.

An intensive question and answer session followed and the toll-free number to report cases of gender-based violence (0800-333-333) was shared among the congregation.
