British tennis star Emma Raducanu has announced an early end to her 2025 season, citing ongoing health challenges.
The 22-year-old has withdrawn from upcoming tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong to focus on recovery.
Currently ranked 29th in the world, Raducanu has been battling physical setbacks, including a recurring back issue and episodes of dizziness, which recently forced her to retire mid-match against Ann Li in Wuhan. She later returned to compete at the Ningbo Open but was defeated in the first round by Zhu Lin.
Raducanu’s decision to step away comes as part of a plan to prioritize her long-term fitness and performance. Working closely with her coach, Francisco Roig, she intends to use the off-season to rebuild strength and consistency ahead of 2026.
The young Brit, who secured 28 wins this year, is now setting her sights on returning refreshed and ready to make a strong statement at the 2026 Australian Open.
