The November 6th 2021 Governorship election in Anambra State and it’s campaigns have turned into a new twist over the week. The level of insecurity in the state which many believe was politically motivated to scare people away from political participation as well as develop voter apathy to enable the APC rig in favor of their candidate, Andy Ubah seem to hold no water as Anambra electorates vowed to deliver Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The first target was to cause artificial insecurity in the state while a state of emergency will be declared in Anambra to allow the APC have a free for all rigging in favor of their self imposed candidate, Sen Andy Ubah.
As that plot was squashed via swift intervention of the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano who quickly met with the President and it was clear Mr President wasn’t aware of such a plan by some wicked individuals trying to use the Attorney General, Malami to execute the dirty job. It was gathered that despite the rising insecurity in Anambra State in recent times, the President still maintained that Anambra remains the safest state in Nigeria and directed the Governor to take over the security of the state and return normalcy. Mr President also assured Ndi Anambra that he and his Vice will never interfere or manipulate the election in favor of any party. Adding that it was the reason he instructed Vice President Osibanjo not to attend any APC flagoff in Anambra. Mr President insisted that *Anambra people must decide in a free and fair election*
Few days ago it was all over the media that the APC candidate met with the leadership of IPOB, a well articulated propaganda targeting to lure the sympathizers of IPOB to their support. The leadership of IPOB swiftly refuted said statement via a press release by the Group spokesman, Emma Powerful and proceeded in laying down a strict warning to Andy Ubah.
The YPP candidate, Sen Ifeanyi Ubah was fast to have started his campaign even before the party primaries hence he is gradually running out of funds now that the main campaign is needed.
Reports from insider sources have it that he is currently negotiating to sell his structure to any highest bidder as his campaign train has hit the brick walls. He is negotiating with Andy Ubah through the Lagos State Governor.
The latest twist is that the duo of the UBAs contesting have relocated their campaigns to Lagos State and Abuja. This was due to the rejection from the people of Anambra State as all the attempts made by both YPP and APC to campaign in Anambra State were faced with *no turn outs of masses* other attempts targeted at hiring and paying crowd met total rejection as a good number of Anambra indigines believe in *Nke a (APGA) bu nke anyi*
Following this development, the duo resorted to campaign outside Anambra State.
Further investigation revealed that they also made attempts to plead with INEC to relocate the voting units to Lagos and Abuja having seen that they can’t make it if the election holds in Anambra State. They based their plea on the fact that the results can be transmitted electronically by INEC.
The APC candidate vowed not to flag off his campaign in Anambra any more as the people are not ready to come out and listen to his manifestos.
According to the leadership of inec in response to their request, it is an unachievable project. Inec asked them to wake up from slumber and summon courage to face the electorates as the are the ones to decide who to vote for. Inec insisted that it has no constitutional powers to conduct Anambra election either in Lagos State or Abuja just to please them over their rejection by the people of Anambra State.
Inec also gave them seven days grace to write officially for withdrawal if they cannot continue as a result of the alleged rejection and boycott by the masses.
As it stands now, the Peoples’Democratic Party, PDP and her candidate has gone incommunicado, silent and confused as most of their leaders believe in Prof Chukwuma Soludo as best candidate. They never decamped and may not, but for the candidacy of Soludo, they vowed to support Soludo not APGA.
APGA is the only Political party that has been campaigning and embraced by the masses in Anambra State. All other Political parties are rejected by Anambra people.
Andy Ubah has also accused APGA of piloting the massive swindle that occured in his camp, where some notable APGA leaders deceived him with the claim of decamping to APC and made away with huge sum of funds while they were still strong members of APGA. He lamented that these people has caused a lot of disaffection in APC and division of the party where original APC members have been deserting his camp on per second billing.
It is currently gathered as at the time of filling this report that there is no political party contesting with APGA in the forthcoming Anambra Governorship election come November 6, 2021.
