It’s disheartening to note that many who worked tirelessly for the 𝐏𝐃𝐏 in the 2023 general elections are yet to be rewarded, either by appointments or any form of compensation. These are individuals who gave their all to ensure the party’s success, the likes of 𝐃 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐢 , the popular 𝐌𝐫.𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡 (𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐰𝐮 𝐥𝐥𝐥. Meanwhile, the PDP has been seen rewarding oppositions—those who actively worked to ensure the party’s loss. These oppositions have now been realigned into the fold without carrying their followers or the core 𝐏𝐃𝐏 members along, a move that has sown further seeds of discord.
If the loyal PDP members, especially those who served on the campaign council, remain neglected until 2027, what hope does the party hold for its future? How can the party expect loyalty and commitment when its own foundation is left to crumble? “The only way to heaven is to speak the TRUTH.”
As someone who has been in the trenches advocating for the betterment of Delta PDP, we recall advising Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa not to suspend those accused of anti-party activities after the PDP won the 2023 gubernatorial elections, and he listened. It was this decision that helped prevent a deeper divide in the party. Furthermore, many policies and decisions that have positively impacted Delta State were inspired by our advice. For example:
• The ban on Okada, a.k.a. tricycle daily tickets, was a result of my advocacy.
• The conversion of Delta Broadcasting Service contract staffs to permanent roles was inspired by my counsel.
• When Barrister Fred Latimore had issues upon rejecting his appointment as the Executive Assistant on Orientation, we were the only online advocates on 2 occasions in Delta State and at some point was summoned to stop advocating but we advised the system on the way to go. Keep in mind many were mocking him on social media and WhatsApp groups with their comments.
• The strategy for engaging Delta State Civil Servants on two occasions, one was at the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat and the other was at the Dome Event Centre — of which His Excellency Elder Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori campaigned to the Civil Servants at the Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat while Senator Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa campaigned at the Dome Event Centres—was also my idea.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 ,𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐃𝐏 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫.
This is a clarion call to the 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐏𝐃𝐏. Reward loyalty. Recognize the sacrifices of those who stood with the party through thick and thin. Mend the internal fractures caused by blackmail, gossip, backstabbing, and betrayals. These toxic behaviors, if left unchecked, will lead the party into chaos. Transparency, inclusivity, and accountability are the keys to restoring unity and strength within the 𝐏𝐃𝐏.
